Discarded olive oil & various catering cans are being repurposed into unique, talking-point serving trays.
After being carefully dissected & thoroughly cleaned, the flattened cans are glued onto a 5mm birch plywood base, this is then framed with a distressed pine frame giving the trays a retro, antique vibe.
Perfect for breakfast in bed, a TV dinner, or outside in the garden for summer soirees or Pimm's on the patio, these trays are an eco-friendly delight.

~ the CHECKER PLATE tray ~
-reclaimed aluminium checker plate & teak serving tray-

Handmade from entirely upcycled or reclaimed materials this tray is not only unique in design but also an excellent eco-friendly piece for the those wanting quality craftsmanship that's also easy on the environment!
The aluminium has been thoroughly cleaned before being cut and fitted to the teak frame (the teak was an old pub table that I milled into new stock.)
The checker plate has two different sides meaning you get a choice of surfaces with which to transfer your favourite snacks or drinks (the checker plate side is more suitable for flat wear such as plates or bowls, the flat side for cups or glasses.)
CARE: NOT to be immersed in water, simply wipe any spillages with a cloth or sponge & dry metal surfaces. (NOT dishwasher safe)

-What were discarded baking sheets are now retro serving trays-
The range of Diner Trays are born from knackered baking pans that are finding culinary reincarnation as retro inspired serving trays.
Slightly battered, rust-afflicted baking trays are dissected, rubbed back & glued down onto 5mm plywood, before being spray painted, then waxed with 3 coats of the highest quality finishing wax in order to provide many more years as a serving tray than they ever gave as baking trays.
The sides are my usual mix of sustainably sourced pine, routed to aid grip, then painted in a 1950's two-tone colour palette befitting the era. The frame is then rubbed back to achieve a worn, retro feel & then given three coats of satin varnish for years of loyal use.

~ the GREENGROCER'S tray ~
-Upcycled fruit & veg boxes-
At high school I painted still lifes consisting of veg boxes- I loved their aesthetic quality then, & I still do today!
In honour of those rapidly disappearing wooden boxes (plastic & printed cardboard now sadly pave the way) I'm busily bestowing these boxes with a new lease of life.
I carefully dismantle the fruit & veg boxes before laminating them onto a 5mm plywood base. This is then framed with pine, before being painted & distressed, then the entire tray is given three coats of matt, solvent- free varnish.
The fruit & veg boxes are seasonal and, as such, so are the products born from them. As you can see there is a myriad of potential combinations in both frame style, paint finish & colours as well as the many veg box logos to choose from. Should you like a bespoke combination, size, or colour preference, drop me a line & I'll see what I can do.
